Restoring Confidence with Dental Care
Covered Heroes is dedicated to providing veteran women with affordable and accessible dental care, especially those who do not qualify for VA services or face trust issues due to military trauma. Our mission is to remove barriers to dental care by offering free or low-cost services, recognizing their sacrifices, and addressing gaps in support. We aim to honor and support veteran women by promoting their oral health and overall well-being
Taking Care of You
The MISSION of Covered Heroes is to ensure that veteran women have access to affordable, accessible, and free dental care services, particularly when they do not qualify for such services through the Veteran Affairs system due to specific qualifications for service or lack of trust resulting from military trauma.
Covered Heroes is committed to removing barriers to dental care for these women by offering services that are both affordable and readily available, recognizing their sacrifices and addressing any gaps in support they may face after their service. Through its mission, Covered Heroes aims to honor and support veteran women by addressing their oral health needs and promoting their overall well-being.

Nonprofit Initiatives
Establish or support nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing dental care for women veterans. These organizations could fundraise, seek grants, or receive donations to cover the costs of dental treatments for those who don't qualify through the VA system.
*Partner with nonprofit organizations dedicated to women's health or veterans' services. Many nonprofits are willing to collaborate to address specific needs within the community.
Community Partnerships
Collaborate with local dental clinics, private practitioners, or dental schools to establish programs specifically tailored for veteran women. Partnering with these entities could offer discounted or pro bono services, making dental care more affordable and accessible.
Trauma-Informed Care
Ensure that the dental care environment and practitioners are trained in trauma-informed care. Creating a safe, respectful, and understanding atmosphere is crucial for women veterans who might have experienced military trauma.
Mental Health Support
Recognize and address the potential impact of military trauma on veterans' willingness to seek dental care. Incorporate mental health support services into the program to create a holistic approach to well-being.
Outreach Programs
Conduct outreach programs specifically targeting women veterans, providing information about available dental care services, addressing concerns about trust or trauma, and emphasizing the importance of self-care and holistic health.
Peer Support Networks
Establish support networks or peer groups where women veterans can share their experiences, encourage each other, and discuss the importance of self-care, including oral health.
Advocacy and Education
Advocate for policy changes that expand dental care coverage for veterans, especially for those who don't qualify through the VA system. Additionally, educational campaigns can raise awareness about the importance of oral health in overall well-being.
Educational Workshops
Conduct workshops and educational programs to empower veteran women with knowledge about oral health and its impact on overall well-being. This can include information on preventive care, nutrition, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
Secure Funding
Seek funding from government grants, private donors, and corporate sponsorships to support the initiative. A well-funded program can offer services at little to no cost for the veterans.
Publicize and Raise Awareness
Effectively communicate the availability of these services through various channels, including social media, local news outlets, and veterans' organizations. Raising awareness is crucial to reaching those in need.
Mobile Dental Units
Consider using mobile dental units to reach women in various locations. This approach is particularly beneficial for reaching those who may face transportation challenges or live in remote areas.

How You Can Help Us
Covering Those That Cover Us!
We are seeking funding from government grants, private donors, and corporate sponsorships to support the initiative. A well-funded program can offer services at little to no cost for the veterans, or cover the costs of dental treatments for those who don't qualify through the VA system. Seeking dentists, dental hygienists, and other oral health professionals who are willing to volunteer their services or pro bono work. Prior military or retired dental and medical professionals are welcome to support.
Establish Partnerships with Dental Schools
Collaborate with dental schools to involve students in providing supervised dental care. This not only expands the pool of available dental professionals but also provides students with valuable experience.
Referral Services
By implementing these strategies, you can create a comprehensive program that addresses the oral health needs of veteran women, promotes self-care, and contributes to their overall well-being outside the traditional VA system
Recruit skilled volunteers
Engage dentists, dental hygienists, and other oral health professionals willing to volunteer. Establish a network of professionals to contribute expertise, supporting the initiative's goals.
